  paragraph 19-21 are under the heading "fight against independant thinking".

  the question box at the end of the article contains the question "what is an evidence of independent thinking, and what can help us to avoid it?

  the clear answers from the paragraphs are that noting that "gods organization has made adjustments in the past, to point out their fallability is the result of "pride" and independent thinking can be avoided by remembering where you learned bible truths in the first place.

  there were another 2,700 volunterers taking part in an art installation by renowned nude photographer spencer tunick.

  not ideal weather for it, i have to say.

  it may be midsummer's day, but standing bollock naked, up to my ankles in sea water in the driving rain it certainly didn't feel like it!

  Ooo, that must've felt really cold.
  
  I used to tell Witnesses occasionally that I thought we'd be naked in the new system. Natural enough, right? No more imperfection, no more shame, no more need to cover up. But some were amazingly shocked at the idea.
  
  I would quite like the experience of being part of a naked crowd. Maybe someday.
  
  And Jeff: you're not judging yourself against porn movies are you? Those guys weren't picked for their acting abilities, you know. :)

  years ago while living in israel i ordered crisis of conscious as i had been on the old h20 site prior to coming to jwd.

  after reading it i met a young man from las angeles who was from a jw family.

  he had left, gone to college and was a volunteer at the baha'i center where i was also serving.

  Witnesses on the train

  they are having their dc here in calgary at the pengrowth saddledome so this morning the lrt train was full of them.. what a spectacle.. guys in ill-filling suits (on a roasting hot day) and 22 year old women dressed like they are 42, all with their silly name badges and yapping on loudly (much louder than anyone else ever talks to each other on the train - i guess they have to be conspicuous eh?).

  little did they know that sat just feet away from them was an evil apostate ... ooooh.

  Peppermint - can understand the crying in the midst of all those Witnesses. If I happen to see a group out on the ministry it reminds me of my situation, and I also feel sad for them as they are misled. I seem to have got to a stage where it doesn't bother me too much, though.

  Sister dies (?) at DC

  no, this is not a joke.

  having actually managed to survive through the entire 3 grueling days of the dc after attending the friday session today (hit sat and sun last weekend) i was initially going to make a criticism of some of the parts & points at the dc.

  however, something that i witnessed today changed my mind.

  sometimes i used to get a little sad for being a late bloomer by worldly standards.

  but when i consider how i've done in spite of my dub background i feel pretty proud: baptized by 16. servant by 19. disillusioned by 22. first date/kiss by 23 (with a worldly girl- the mind control starting to lose hold!

  ) chance to lose virginity by 24 (but still too brainwashed to give in to my "wrong" desires).
